: Sometimes a person will be right handed and left eye dominant or vice versa. I tell them to stand facing the dart board more and to hold the dart more towards the middle of their body to help let their dominant eye aim.
**Light bulb turns on in head**
I picked up throwing darts about 5 months ago when I was deployed in the desert. I'm ambidextrous, left-eye dominant, but I am only coordinated enough to throw right-handed. For the past 5 months, I had just assumed the 'standard' stance, figuring that was the best way to go. Now that I've tried turning my body a bit... wow, big improvement. It makes a lot of sense now, especially compared with how a shoot bows, pistols, and rifles. All of my fine motor skills tend to be with my left hand, but anything requiring major motions or strength (drawing a bow, throwing a ball/dart/etc, shouldering a weapon) I use my right.
